Having fun with Mike Montgomery

I said I’d have fun with Mike Montgomery at Alton radio station WBGZ-AM 1570 and I did. His interview with me Monday afternoon was more of a rolling conversation than a Q and A. We talked about my last book, how I write a book, my current book and how big the German population is. We also talked about his first interview with me in 2010.

Back to Mike Montgomery’s show

Mike Montgomery of the Alton radio station WBGZ AM 1570 Radio for the River Bend will interview me at 4 p.m. Monday Nov. 26.

I had a lot of fun with Mike when he interviewed me two years ago about my first book, Hoosiers and Scrubby Dutch: St. Louis’s South Side. I anticipate having just as much fun this time.

You can stream the program live or get it on demand at http://www.wbgzradio.com/

With Charlie Brennan

That’s me in the studio with Charlie Brennan before he interviewed me on Thanksgiving morning on KMOX-AM 1120. He’s at the right.

Charlie told me he was impressed with the amount of research I’d done. On the air, we talked about the influence of early Germans, “The Joy of Cooking” author Irma Rombauer and why Germans hated slavery.

A happy reader

That’s Herb Trost of South County with the book and me wearing the lederhosen on Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Saturday night’s Autumn Fest Dance at the Concord Farmer’s Hall. He was one of those I signed books for at the dance. Earlier, I signed books at Grove Furnishings, 3169 Morgan Ford Road.

Watch this space for more signings.
