. . . for the release-signing party for the Second Edition of Jim Merkel’s book Hoosiers and Scrubby Dutch: St. Louis’ South Side at the Royale, 3132 South Kingshighway Boulevard. The fun begins this afternoon at 2 with a discussion about life on the South Side and continues until 5.
The edition includes almost all of the stories in Jim Merkel’s 2010 book, plus new ones on such topics as the Royale, South Side Donuts, Hampton Village, and the day Carondelet almost blew up.
The forecast for this afternoon is for sunshine and piles of good food and drink at a great location. Come out for this first change to get an autographed copy of the new version of an old favorite. Jim Merkel’s other books also will be available for signing.
