For more than 50 years, when people thought of St. Louis, they’ve thought of the Gateway Arch. Now, with the completion of a $380 million renovation project, there’s new interest in the city’s world famous riverfront icon. St. Louis author and journalist Jim Merkel discusses everything that’s new at the riverfront in a reworked version of a book he wrote about the Arch in 2014. It’s called The Making of an Icon: The Dreamers, The Schemers, and The Hard Hats Who Built The Gateway Arch, 2nd Edition.
